Job summary

Ciena Healthcare is seeking an RN Staff Development Coordinator to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate orientation, staff education and development programs to ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care in compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.

The RN Staff Development Coordinator supports quality outcomes, promotes evidence-based practice, and partners with leadership to foster a culture of safety, learning, and accountability.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered nurse with management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing.
• Prior experience in staff development, education, or leadership preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, state requirements, and long-term care standards.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the competencies and training of nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, and STNAs).
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities per policies and laws.
• Interviews, hires, and trains LPNs and STNAs; plans and directs work; prepares assignment sheets.
• Receives calls and arranges replacements or coverage; transfers employees between units as needed.
• Prepares performance evaluations and handles employee discipline and timekeeping corrections.
