Job summary

Elmhurst Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator (SDC) to lead education, training, and competency programs for clinical staff, ensuring regulatory compliance and ongoing professional development. This full-time, dayshift role supports resident care and quality outcomes.

The ideal candidate is an RN licensed in Rhode Island with experience in educational leadership in a nursing setting.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Rhode Island RN license.
• Experience in educational leadership within a nursing center or healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and presentation abilities.
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations and staff competency requirements.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the center maintains appropriate staffing levels and nursing care to support quality resident outcomes.
• Develop, coordinate, and provide education and training programs for new and existing employees.
• Conduct employee orientation and ongoing in-service education to ensure compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate and organized education records, competency validations, and required documentation.
• Assist with admissions as needed and support the nursing department's overall workflow and resident care units.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify educational needs and promote continuous staff development.
• Monitor compliance with mandatory training requirements and clinical competencies.
• Support quality improvement initiatives through education, coaching, and staff development.
