University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ICE | NUSL Spine Clinic. The RN will provide direct patient care, coordinate care, triage, and work with providers and staff to develop individual health plans for patients.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree, an active RN license, and at least 1 year of RN experience. The position is full-time, day shift, and onsite with comprehensive benefits available to eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate's Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor's in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing.
• Valid RN License
• Minimum of 1 year Registered Nursing experience

Responsibilities

• Collects and documents assessment data from patients per UAMS standard.
• Develops patient's Plan of Care per department/unit standards.
• Evaluates progress toward attainment of desired outcomes.
• Administers medication following department/unit standards and Nurse Practice Act.
• Verifies and evaluates care to ensure it aligns with patient and family centered care principles and regulatory requirements.
• Supports integration of current evidence into nursing practices.
• Promotes a learning environment for students and staff.
• Provides patient/family education and discharge planning.
• Communicates care through medical records and with interdisciplinary teams.
• Participates in recruitment/retention of staff.
• Facilitates development and implementation of evidence-based nursing practice standards.

Summary of Job Duties

The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care as an RN. This professional nursing role will require the ability to coordinate care for patients, triage patients, and work collaboratively with clinic providers, fellows, and staff. Requires the ability to effectively work with patient referral sources, facilitate appointments, coordinate transitions of care, and provide patient education on complex conditions. The RN will work with the individual patient, their families, and providers of care to develop and implement individual health plans.
