Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty for a PRN role covering days and weekends in our Springfield, MO area. You will provide high-quality patient care, coordinate with a multidisciplinary team, and involve families in care decisions to improve outcomes.

The role emphasizes safe handoffs, accurate documentation, and ongoing professional development in a supportive, mission-driven environment. Prior nursing experience is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the applicable state.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Nursing experience is welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Involve patients and families in care decisions and education.
• Document and update care plans to support outcomes and recovery goals.
• Perform safe handoffs using SBAR and bedside reporting.
• Monitor and communicate clinical findings, labs, and diagnostics.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Delegate and supervise patient care activities per scope of practice.
• Participate in quality improvement and department meetings.
• Advocate for patients while protecting rights and confidentiality.
• Support a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous learning.
