Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis Critical Care Medicine Fellowship is seeking a dedicated RN to join a specialized team. As an RN Specialty, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while upholding safety and compassionate care standards.

This PRN role offers flexible days, evenings, and weekend shifts in a supportive environment. You will collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate individualized patient care plans and participate in ongoing

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current unrestricted RN license in the applicable state.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Experience is welcome but not required.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of medications, treatments, patient education, and nursing procedures.
• Basic computer and electronic documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to assigned patients while maintaining professional accountability.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate individualized patient care plans.
• Involve patients and their families in care decisions while promoting education and self-care.
• Assess, document, and update patient care plans to support optimal health outcomes and recovery goals.
• Perform safe and effective patient handoffs utilizing SBAR and bedside reporting.
• Monitor, interpret, and communicate clinical findings, laboratory results, and diagnostic data.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
• Delegate and supervise patient care activities in accordance with scope of practice and documented competencies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, department meetings, and professional development activities.
• Serve as a patient advocate while protecting patient rights, privacy, and confidentiality.
• Support a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous learning.
