• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN)
• Current state RN licensure
• BLS Certification (AHA or Red Cross)
• ACLS Certification if in Critical Care area at hire or within first year
• Two years recent related nursing experience preferred?
• Internal candidates with less than two years may be considered with review
• Prescreen competency assessments
• Nursing experience in military RN may be considered

With the latest state-of-the-art technology, the 2-bed M24 Special Delivery Unit offers an OR and triage area to serve complex obstetrical populations during delivery. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering new parents with exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, their families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply pediatric healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.

A caregiver in this position works3 – 12 hour shifts 7:00am – 7:00pm or 7:00pm – 7:00am. 72 hours per pay period.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment
• External applicants must have two years recent related nursing experience
• Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience but post orientation /90 day probationary period could be considered with Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval
• Successfully pass all prescreen competency assessments
• Will consider licensed military RN experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
