Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System's Main Campus in Cleveland is hiring an RN for Surgery. You will join a team delivering world-class surgical care, with day/night rotation from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm or 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, and a demanding yet supportive schedule.

This role requires RN licensure, BLS, ACLS within six months, and either one year of RN experience or completion of Cleveland Clinic’s Perioperative Residency. An opportunity to develop professionally across unit placements is offered.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN).
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • One year of RN experience OR completion of Cleveland Clinic’s Perioperative Residency Program.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in an operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
  • Perform scrub and circulating functions.
  • Prepare the OR, surgical instruments and equipment for use.

A caregiver in this role will work a day/night rotation from 7am - 7:30pm OR 7pm - 7:30am.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing > than 75 pounds periodically.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
