Job summary

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) at Medical City Plano ensures high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinates unit functions during the shift. In collaboration with the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in line with policies, serving as a resource for staff and upholding the hospital's mission.

Responsibilities include admissions/discharges for throughput, quality assessment with leadership, teamwork with experts to improve outcomes, and staff

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN Registered Nurse licensure required.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Prior Acute Hospital GI/Endo experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
• Participate in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services with the management team.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and managers to foster teamwork and improve outcomes.
• Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
• Operationalize nursing strategies (e.g., hourly rounds) to boost engagement.
• Provide recommendations on interviewing, selecting and training staff, and on performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Assist with staff scheduling and manage labor in line with patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
• Support inventory control and management of supplies and equipment.
