Job summary

Tidewell Hospice, a member of Empath Health, seeks a Senior Staff Nurse to lead nursing teams and deliver compassionate end-of-life care in southwest Florida. You will coordinate care with the Care Team Manager and supervise the Hospice Aide staff on your team.

The role emphasizes maximizing patient comfort and family support, with a focus on teaching, quality improvements, and adherence to licensing requirements. CPR and IV therapy certification readiness within six months is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education and/or experience as described: ADN or equivalent with 1–2 years related experience.
• Valid Florida RN license required.
• Current CPR certification required; IV therapy certification preferred (within 6 months).
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience; hospice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate nursing team functions with the Care Team Manager.
• Mentor and supervise Hospice Aide staff; provide teaching and guidance.
• Assess patient/family needs and intervene to maximize comfort and quality of life.
• Identify and coordinate care for terminally ill patients and families.
• Support quality improvements and performance improvements through supervisory visits.
