Qualifications

• Must have NC RN license (or compact) and be in good standing.
• Strong communication and patient education skills.
• Experience with medication administration and safety.
• Knowledge of infection control and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient/family education using teach-back and documents outcomes.
• Plans 24-hour care by assessing function, health status, and medication needs.
• Treats patients and families with respect, addressing cultural and spiritual needs.
• Communicates clearly with all members of the health care team.
• Notifies physicians promptly of changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
• Delivers patient care per standards of care and practice.
• Administers medications and treatments, including IV meds and blood products.
• Checks emergency equipment and drugs each shift.
• Maintains a safe environment per infection control policies.
• Receives orders and ensures they are carried out as policy.
• Assists physician with bedside procedures.
• Performs other related duties as needed.
