Job summary

Homewood Retirement Centers in Williamsport, MD seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to oversee direct resident care and administer prescribed medications. The role emphasizes confidentiality, policy compliance, and accurate nursing documentation.

You will coordinate shift duties, transcribe physician orders, participate in care planning, and address residents’ physical and psychological needs while supporting admissions, discharges, and staff supervision as time permits.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in the state providing nursing care.
• Judgment, initiative and dependability.
• Ability to read, write and understand English well.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist and turn during an 8-hour shift.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds for resident lifts and transfers.
• Ability to push a med cart in dispensing medications.
• Respond quickly and decisively in emergencies or with resident behavior.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate to residents at a level they understand.

Responsibilities

• Assesses direct resident care delivery and administers prescribed medications.
• Maintains confidential information about residents, conditions, and personnel matters.
• Complies with policies and maintains standards and practices.
• Transcribes and carries out physician orders; assists with physician visits.
• Participates in resident care planning and evaluates care delivery.
• Assists with admissions and discharges of residents.
• Monitors and supports Nursing Assistants and Hospitality Aides.
• Provides direct resident care as time allows and responds to emergencies.
