Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, seeks an experienced RN to lead and educate the robotics program in the operating room. You will support the department, assist with scheduling, and ensure protocol adherence while providing direct patient care across all ages.

  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Nevada.
  • Preferred: at least three years of acute‑care operating‑room experience.
  • BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the department, staff, and physicians for the robotics program.
  • Assist in managing the robotic surgery schedule and maintain inventory related to the robotic system.
  • Maintain and update OR/hospital protocols related to robotic surgery.
  • Report quality data to the robotics steering committee.
  • Maintain a strong clinical presence, oversee and advise surgical robotic staff, and participate in the competency evaluation process.
  • Assist in marketing and recruitment of physicians to the robotic program.
  • Provide direct patient care to patients across all age groups.
  • Address psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
  • Communicate with surgeons and anesthesiologists continuously about patient condition.
  • Assist with maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory.
  • Participate in performance‑improvement activities.
  • Assess operating room or procedure room for equipment function and readiness; obtain supplies for cases and ensure all needs of the surgical team are met.
  • Monitor, position, and assist patients during procedures.
  • Develop and maintain clinical pathways for robotic surgery teams.

Job description

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, is a 170‑bed acute care hospital offering 24/7 ER, cardiology, oncology, labor and delivery, level II NICU, surgical and orthopedic services and more.
