Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, is seeking an RN Program Coordinator to join our surgical services team in Nevada. This full-time role provides direct patient care to adult populations and supports the operating room team with implants, supplies, and readiness.

Responsibilities include coordinating service-line activities, liaising with vendors, training staff, and contributing to CQI initiatives. Nevada RN licensure and BLS/ACLS are required, with BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Nevada.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years Operating Room Experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult patients in the surgical environment.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, team members and vendors regarding implants and supplies.
• Assess operating room equipment, supplies and readiness for procedures.
• Assist in obtaining supplies for individual cases and ensuring needs of the surgical team are met.
• Participate in performance improvement and CQI activities.

This RN Program Coordinator opportunity is full time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient schedule. We are looking for a dynamic individual who provides direct patient care to adult patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Communicates effectively with the physicians, team members, and vendors regarding needed implants and supplies. Assesses operating rooms room for equipment functioning, supplies, implants, and readiness. Assists in obtaining supplies for individual cases and ensuring all appropriate needs of the surgical team are met. Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure. Functions as a team member and resource for the Surgical Services Department. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for specified service line, including supply management, physician relations and satisfaction, vendor relations, and education of staff.
• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other health team members as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Functions as a liaison to service specific vendors, coordinating flow of materials and collaborating with Sterile Processing to ensure patient and physician needs are met.
• Assists in policy review and physician order sets.
• Trains all nursing staff in the specific service line.
