Job summary

The North Florida South/Georgia Veterans Healthcare System RN Transition to Practice (RN TTP) Program is designed for post-graduate registered nurses who recently completed an entry-level nursing degree. It is a 12-month program with didactic and clinical components to help new RNs transition to full practice.

Classes and clinicals are held at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, FL, with a preceptor-guided orientation and flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency required.
• Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by accrediting agency (ACEN/CCNE).
• Current, full, active, unrestricted RN license in U.S. state or territory.
• Temporary appointment possible while pursuing licensure if applicable.
• Foreign nursing education requires degree equivalency validation.

Responsibilities

• Participate in orientation under a qualified preceptor.
• Work in assigned clinical units with variable shifts (12h/8h).
• Complete didactic sessions and clinical experiences to achieve competency as an RN.
• Engage in transition-to-practice activities guided by program standards.
