Job summary

WakeMed in Cary, NC offers a nurse residency program to help new graduates transition into practice with confidence and support. You will be paired with a trained preceptor and residency coordinators, moving through a year-long curriculum with peers.

The program includes clinical judgment development, time management, ethics, and hands-on experiences, plus opportunities for specialty training and career advancement within WakeMed.

Qualifications

• Graduates of an accredited ADN or BSN program.
• Newly licensed RNs or nurses with 6 months or less of post-licensure experience.
• Candidates eligible for RN licensure in North Carolina.
• Individuals who are passionate about patient care and committed to continuous learning.
• Team players who value collaboration, communication, and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Develop clinical judgment, critical-thinking skills, and professional nursing competencies through guided mentorship and hands‑on experience.
