Job summary

WakeMed offers a Nurse Residency Program designed to bridge the gap between school and practice for new graduate nurses in Raleigh, NC. You will be paired with a preceptor and supported by residency coordinators, following a year-long, milestone-driven curriculum.

Participants gain exposure to multiple specialties, ongoing training, and pathway options within a Magnet-recognized system, with benefits including tuition reimbursement and PSLF eligibility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program.
• Newly licensed RN or with 6 months or less post-licensure experience.
• Eligible for RN licensure in North Carolina.
• Passionate about patient care and committed to continuous learning.
• Team player who values collaboration, communication, and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Develop clinical judgment, critical-thinking skills, and professional nursing competencies through guided mentorship and hands-on experience.
• Grow into a specialty – acute care, critical care, emergency services, women’s services, perioperative services, and others.
