Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast offers a Nurse Residency Program designed to bridge transition from student nurse to registered nurse. The program provides hands-on experiences, year-long learning, and mentorship from experienced nurse leaders to support growth and clinical competency.

As part of the RN Residency, new graduates will participate in advanced clinical training, monthly education sessions, and a structured preceptorship within a 340+ bed acute care setting in Pasadena, Texas.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS certification required within 12 months of employment.
• Other nursing certifications may be required during employment.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required.
• RN license or Graduate Nurse in the state is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting changes.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other orders and document care.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor therapeutic responses.
• Provide timely patient-centered care and respond to requests.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment, and follow-up.
