Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina offers the HCA Healthcare Residency Program for Nurse Residents, a year-long paid program designed to ease the transition from student nurse to registered nurse with hands-on clinical experience.

As a Resident II Registered Nurse, you will be mentored by experienced nurse leaders, work with a supportive nursing education team, and collaborate with care teams to deliver patient-centered care across specialties.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of employment.
• RN License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• No previous experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift; report changes.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered; document in medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications; monitor response and notify provider if needed.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs to provide exceptional care.
• Educate patients, families and caregivers about conditions, plans, medications and follow-up.
