Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking an RN at Moody Outpatient Center to coordinate patient care within the Parkland nursing model. The RN assesses, plans, and evaluates care for targeted patient populations, ensuring safe transitions and timely care by delegating tasks per the Texas Nursing Practice Act.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, independent judgment, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to prevent delays and complications in the care process.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Registered Nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Must graduate by December 2026.
• Must have current, valid RN license or temporary RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing; or a valid Compact RN license.
• Must have current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a patient advocate and maintain positive relationships with Parkland staff and patients.
• Provide patient care education to patient and family; be a resource for clinical issues.
• Ensure proper handoff when care is relinquished.
• Participate in community outreach activities as assigned.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable rules and ensure compliance with laws and accreditation.
• Perform patient assessments, monitor changes, and notify providers as needed.
• Manage adult ICU patients with neurological, pulmonary, cardiovascular, GI, GU disorders; administer meds safely; manage IV access.
• Complete documentation in patient care records and ensure records meet department standards.
• Identify ways to improve processes and patient satisfaction; report to supervisor.
• Keep up with nursing practice developments and maintain licensure.
