Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking an RN to join the Adult ICU/Critical Care team at Moody Outpatient Center (5th Floor). The RN coordinates patient care using the nursing process, assesses patients, and develops individualized plans of care with the health care team.

Requires active RN license in Texas or Compact, BSN preferred, and BLS certification. Responsibilities include continuous assessment, appropriate handoffs, and independent nursing judgment to ensure patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Must have current, valid RN license or temporary RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing; or, valid Compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a patient advocate, focusing on patient needs, rights, confidentiality, and cultural preferences.
• Maintains and updates knowledge of sanitation, infection control, safety, supplies and equipment.
• Performs patient assessments, notifies providers of changes, and implements orders in a timely manner.
• Manages adult ICU patients with neurological, pulmonary, cardiovascular, GI and GU disorders as applicable.
• Completes documentation in patient care records; ensures records meet department standards.
• Participates in information exchanges with Parkland staff to support department goals.
