Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Recovery Room team within Surgical Services on a full-time day shift at UAB St Vincent's Blount.

You will provide direct nursing care, implement care plans, and coordinate multi-disciplinary care, while ensuring smooth discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in Alabama.
• BLS certification required (within 1 month of hire).
• Diploma in nursing from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

Job Description

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and Required professional licensure at time of hire.
