Job summary

BayCare Health System in Tampa, FL, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Pre‑op team in Same Day Surgery at St. Joseph's Hospital.

The RN will provide care for a sub‑specialty patient group, delegate tasks, and act as preceptor/charge nurse as needed, upholding safety and clinical standards.

Qualifications

• RN license is required and BLS certification is required; ACLS if department requires.
• Associates degree in Nursing required; Bachelors degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience; at least 1 year in pre-op preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently care for a sub-specialty group of patients using the nursing process and standards.
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities to other health team members.
• Maintain professional accountability and develop according to standards; serve as preceptor and charge nurse when assigned.

The RN responsibilities include:

• Independently caring for a sub‑specialty group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegating appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team.
• Professional accountability and development according to best practice standards set forth by a nationally recognized specialty organization
• Performing the role of preceptor and charge nurse when assigned
