BayCare Health System in Tampa, FL is seeking an experienced RN to join the Pediatric Critical Care Float team. You will provide bedside care in the PICU, applying the nursing process and collaborating with the care team to support pediatric patients.

Position Description: RN- Pediatric Critical Care Float

The Pediatric Critical Care Float Registered Nurse in critical care works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of Pediatric patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards. Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team. The Registered Nurse in the Pediatric ICU is also responsible for professional accountability and development.

• Care for pediatric patient needs throughout their recovery in pediatric critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical pediatric patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP
• Associates Degree in Nursing
• At least 2 year of RN experience in a Pediatric Critical Care setting

Status: Full Time, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: 6:45PM - 7:15AM

Shift: Shift 3

Shift 1 = Days, 2 = Evenings, 3 = Nights, 4 = Varies

Weekend Work: Every Other

On Call: Yes
