Job summary

BayCare in Tampa is seeking a Registered Nurse for Pediatric Cardiac ICU who will independently care for a group of pediatric cardiac ICU patients, following the nursing process and clinical standards. You will delegate appropriate activities to the care team and maintain professional accountability and development.

Responsibilities include monitoring vitals, recognizing changes in condition, responding to emergencies, coordinating discharge planning, and presenting clear information to families

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS
• 2 years RN Acute Care experience in Peds ICU or Peds Cardiac ICU
• Associate's Degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient

The Registered Nurse in Pediatric Critical Care works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of pediatric cardiac ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards. Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team. The Registered Nurse in Pediatric Cardiac ICU is also responsible for professional accountability and development.

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse license

Shift Hours: 6:45pm - 7:15am & 645am-715pm (rotating day/night shift to help fill the needs for whatever the unit staffing requires)
