RWJBarnabas Health's Community Medical Center is seeking an experienced RN for the PACU to provide post-anesthesia care. You will be part of a collaborative perioperative team delivering high-quality patient care and education to patients and families.

The role emphasizes strong clinical judgment, compassionate communication, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. It offers a 40-hour work week with day shift hours (9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.) and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS & PALS certifications.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred; at least 1 year peri-op or critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes.

PACU is part of the Peri-Op Division. Staff care for patients immediately post Surgery until stable.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
• Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care
• Taking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS & PALS certification. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is at least one year current patient care experience in Peri-OP or Critical Care and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers a 40 hour work week, day shift 9a-7:30p, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
