RWJBarnabas Health seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Same Day Surgery unit at MMC Southern Campus in Lakewood, NJ. This full-time day shift (36 hours/week) focuses on pre- and post-operative patient care and teamwork.

Ideal candidates hold an active NJ RN license with BLS, ACLS & PALS, plus 1 year of critical care or perioperative experience. BSN preferred and EPIC EMR proficiency are important for success.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing (required).
• Current BLS, ACLS & PALS certifications.

SDS is a fast paced unit caring for patients requiring surgical procedures pre-op and post op.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
• Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS & PALS certification & at least one year critical care or Peri-Op experience. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers a 36 hour/week schedule allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
