RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the PACU in the Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. The role is evening shift with a 36-hour work week, primarily in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.

Pay ranges from $48.29 to $67.04 per hour, with on-call responsibilities. Candidates must hold an active NJ RN license and current BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications; a Bachelor's degree is preferred, with experience in perioperative or critical care and EPIC EMR familiarity.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS, ACLS & PALS certifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• At least 1 year of perioperative or critical care patient care experience.
• Experience with EPIC EMR system.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes.

PACU is part of the Peri-Op Division. Staff care for patients immediately post Surgery until stable.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
• Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care
• Taking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS & PALS certification. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is at least one year current patient care experience in Peri-OP or Critical Care and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers a 36 hour work week, Evenings 11a-11:30p plus on call, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
