Job summary

Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse to join our Medical ICU team. The MICU is a high-acuity 24-bed unit with complex diagnoses, using mechanical ventilation, ECMO, and advanced cardiac support.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6-months RN ICU experience; 1-year high acuity ICU/MICU preferred.
• ADN required; BSN preferred with plan to matriculate.
• Active RN license upon hire; Basic CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical ventilation, ECMO, cardiac support, and dialysis.
• Assist with IV titration and other critical care tasks.
• Maintain patient care standards in the MICU and coordinate with care teams.

The Medical ICU at The Johns Hopkins Hospital is a 24-bed Intensive Care Unit specializing in the care of a high acuity patient population with complex medical diagnoses. The majority of our diagnoses include, but are not limited to: end stage renal & hepatic disease, multisystem organ failure, newly diagnosed or existing autoimmune & pulmonary disorders, the critically ill antepartum/ postpartum patient, the critically ill oncology patient. Only ICU RN's with at least one year of recent experience should apply. Our nurses provide mechanical ventilation, ECMO, cardiac support, dialysis, IV titration adn more.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6-months RN ICU experience required; 1-year high acuity RN ICU/MICU experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in nursing (ADN) (Required)
• BSN (preferred) and applicants w/an ADN in nursing will be considered. Per nursing guidelines, must matriculate into a BSN program.
• Basic CPR upon hire required
• Active RN license upon hire required
