Job summary

Mercy is seeking an RN to join the Operating Room at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. This part-time role is 24 hours per week across two 12-hour shifts, focusing on patient-centered perioperative care.

You’ll apply the nursing process, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and staff to deliver high-quality care in a dynamic OR environment.

Qualifications

• RN licensure valid in the hiring state.
• 1 year of critical-care or Operating Room experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification or within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care in the OR.
• Maintains professional accountability and patient confidentiality.
• Coordinates patient care with surgeons, physicians and staff.
• Performs duties in alignment with Mercy Service Standards.

Overview

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Preferred experience: 1 year of critical-care or Operating Room experience.
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
