Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Labor & Delivery - Birth Suites (LDRP) at UAB St Vincent's Birmingham. This full-time night shift role provides direct nursing care, coordinates multidisciplinary care, and executes physician and nursing orders within a high-volume obstetric setting.

The ideal candidate holds a nursing diploma and Alabama licensure, with BLS and ACLS current or obtained shortly after hire. A supportive benefits package accompanies the position.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire or transfer date.
• ACLS within 180 days of hire or transfer date.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing prior to hire date.

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
