Job summary

Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center in Lancaster, PA is seeking an experienced ICU RN to assess health problems, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records during night shifts.

The inpatient RN will monitor patients, administer medications, and provide health guidance while collaborating with the care team. A 0.90 FTE schedule includes a $5 night differential and a $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• RN license required to practice in state of employment.
• BLS certification required before end of orientation period.
• ACLS certification required before end of orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health problems and needs; develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients; monitor reactions and side effects.
• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and medical records.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The RN inpatient Nurse assesses patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. The inpatient Registered Nurse administers nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. The RN may advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention. The inpatient RN will maintain accurate, detailed reports and records and administer medications to patients while monitoring for reactions and side effects. The RN will monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.

• AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period

• ACLS prior to end of orientation period
