Job summary

Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for the night shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.). This full-time 0.90 FTE role involves patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, and meticulous medical recordkeeping.

A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates. Minimum qualifications include an active RN license, BLS, ACLS, and the ability to monitor and respond to patient changes.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment or equivalent multi-state license.
• BLS required; ACLS certification before orientation end.
• ACLS/BLS certifications as part of the minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health problems and needs and develop care plans.
• Maintain detailed medical records and documentation.
• Administer medications and monitor for reactions and side effects.
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The RN inpatient Nurse assesses patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. The inpatient Registered Nurse administers nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. The RN may advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention. The inpatient RN will maintain accurate, detailed reports and records and administer medications to patients while monitoring for reactions and side effects. The RN will monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
• AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
• ACLS prior to end of orientation period
