Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse - Hemodialysis at Winter Haven Hospital in Florida. You will provide patient-centered care for a group of dialysis patients, work within a multidisciplinary team, and uphold nursing standards in a high-acuity setting.

Responsibilities include monitoring vitals, documenting assessments, coordinating discharges, and responding to emergencies, with emphasis on compassionate communication and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN License in Florida
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
• 1 year RN experience in Hemodialysis in Acute Care setting
• BLS and ACLS certifications required

Responsibilities

• Care for dialysis patients in hospital setting using nursing process
• Monitor vitals and update care team
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals
• Respond to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Document assessments and care plans
• Demonstrate high emotional intelligence in patient interactions
• Maintain professional accountability

• Status: Full Time
• Shift: 9:00 AM - 9:30 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• On Call: Yes

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-years' RN experience in the Hemodialysis in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – Hemodialysis Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of Dialysis patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
