Job summary

BayCare Health System in Tampa seeks a Registered Nurse in Hemodialysis at St. Joseph's Hospital. Full-time, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, with on-call duties and every-other-weekend schedule, in-person care.

You will provide patient-centered dialysis care, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, document vitals, monitor changes, and support discharge planning. Requires RN license, nursing degree, and BLS/ACLS; 1 year of hemodialysis experience in acute care.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Diploma, associate’s, bachelor's or higher in nursing.
• 1 year RN experience in hemodialysis in an acute care setting.
• BLS certification (American Red Cross or AHA).
• ACLS certification (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Care for a group of dialysis patients in a hospital setting using the nursing process and standards.
• Delegate tasks to other health care team members as appropriate.
• Assist patients through recovery in critical care.
• Monitor and document vitals and assessments for the care team.
• Identify sudden or subtle changes in patient condition.
• Respond to medical emergencies for critical patients.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care.
• Demonstrate high emotional intelligence to create a positive patient experience.

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-years' RN experience in the Hemodialysis in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – Hemodialysis Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of Dialysis patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
