Job summary

BayCare seeks a Pool Registered Nurse for Hemodialysis across multiple Tampa Bay area locations. The role covers day and night shifts, with 6-week scheduling including 4–12 hour shifts and two weekend shifts.

In-person care across specified hospitals is required, delivering compassionate, patient-centered dialysis services. The position requires RN licensing, nursing degree, and 18 months of dialysis experience in acute care, plus BLS and ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• RN license and active nursing certification.
• 18-month’s experience in dialysis in an acute care setting.
• BLS certification with American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification with American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of dialysis patients.
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other health care team members.
• Cares for patient needs throughout recovery in critical care.
• Monitors, records, and updates care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifies acute changes in patient condition and responds to emergencies.
• Coordinates discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care after discharge.
• Maintains high emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience.
• Demonstrates professional accountability and development.

• Day Shift - 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Night Shift - 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 18-month's experience in the Dialysis in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Pool Registered Nurse – Hemodialysis responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of Dialysis patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
