Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC in North Carolina seeks an RN to join a facility-based crisis unit, providing oversight and general nursing care to individuals with behavioral health needs. The role involves assessing clients, monitoring treatment, and responding to crises in a 5–7 day stay setting.

This is a regular, full-time position with a variety of 24/7 shifts. Candidates should have an Associate Degree in Nursing, and a driving license is required for some responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing, with a minimum of an Associates Degree in Nursing.
• Prefer one year of nursing experience.
• Experience in behavioral health nursing preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance coverage.
• Must maintain proficiency in required trainings and privileging if required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize nursing assessment skills to assess and monitor clients in behavioral health crisis settings.
• Comply with Controlled Substances policies and maintain accurate inventories and logs.
• Monitor for side effects and adverse reactions to medications.
• Complete QA activities as requested and participate in QA processes.
• Communicate effectively with the team.
• Provide compassionate care and work on nonstandard nursing assignments.

Provides oversight and general nursing care and services to persons in a facility-based crisis/non-hospital detox setting. All patients are voluntary and perform their own ADL’s. No physical or chemical restraints. Average length of stay of patients is 5 -7 days.

Schedule:

A variety of shifts available for 24/7 coverage

• Day shift: 7:00 am -7:00 pm
• Night Shift: 7:00pm - 7:00am

Job Responsibilities

• Utilize your skills and expertise, current nursing assessment skills and knowledge of nursing principles to assess and monitor clients, participating in behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment and responding to crises on a timely basis.
• Comply with Controlled Substances policy and procedures in maintaining accurate inventories and controlled logs, following appropriate guidelines for investigation of discrepancies
• Monitor consumers and taking appropriate action for side effects and adverse reactions to medications
• Complete QA activities as requested and participating in the QA process
• Communicate effectively with the team
• Our ideal Registered Nurse has excellent listening and communication skills, can pick up on nonverbal communication and is eager to work on nonstandard nursing assignments.

Education, Licensure, and Experience required for the position include:

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing, with a minimum of an Associates Degree in Nursing.
• Must meet the education, experience, licensure/certification requirements specified by the service definition of the service being provided
• Prefer one year of nursing experience.
• Experience in behavioral health nursing preferred.
• Some college training and/or management experience helpful
• Valid drivers license (this is a condition of employment) including personal vehicle insurance coverage.
• Must maintain proficiency in company sponsored training and certifications and privileging if required.

Pre-employment screening:

• Name checked in the registries. (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
• Drug testing
• Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
• Proof of employment history or references (if required)
• Positions that require driving Proof of driver's licence, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals.
