Job summary

RHA Health Services is seeking a Facility Based Crisis Registered Nurse to join our team. You will provide oversight and general nursing care in a facility-based crisis/non-hospital detox setting, caring for individuals with behavioral health and substance use challenges.

This role involves coordination with a multidisciplinary team and ensuring compassionate, voluntary care for patients with short-stay stays.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program with an Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Must meet licensure/certification requirements and service definition requirements.
  • One year nursing experience preferred, behavioral health nursing preferred.
  • Some college training and/or management experience helpful.
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance coverage required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor clients using current nursing assessment skills and nursing principles, participating in behavioral health and substance use treatment. Respond to crises promptly.
  • Maintain accurate inventories and logs in line with Controlled Substances policy.
  • Monitor patients for medication side effects and adverse reactions and take appropriate action.
  • Complete QA activities and participate in QA processes as requested.
  • Communicate effectively with the treatment team.

Facility Based Crisis Registered Nurse

Type: Regular

This position is a member of a team that provides support, services, and treatments necessary to provide integrated care to individuals with behavioral health diagnosis or substance use disorders. Provides oversight and general nursing care and services to persons in a facility-based crisis/non-hospital detox setting. All patients are voluntary and perform their own ADL's. No physical or chemical restraints. Average length of stay of patients is 5-7 days.

Job Responsibilities
  • Utilize your skills and expertise, current nursing assessment skills and knowledge of nursing principles to assess and monitor clients, participating in behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment and responding to crises on a timely basis.
  • Comply with Controlled Substances policy and procedures in maintaining accurate inventories and controlled logs, following appropriate guidelines for investigation of discrepancies.
  • Monitor consumers and take appropriate action for side effects and adverse reactions to medications.
  • Complete QA activities as requested and participate in the QA process.
  • Communicate effectively with the team.
Education, Licensure, and Experience Required
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing, with a minimum of an Associates Degree in Nursing.
  • Must meet the education, experience, licensure/certification requirements specified by the service definition of the service being provided.
  • Prefer one year of nursing experience.
  • Experience in behavioral health nursing preferred.
  • Some college training and/or management experience helpful.
  • Valid drivers license (this is a condition of employment) including personal vehicle insurance coverage.
  • Must maintain proficiency in company sponsored training and certifications and privileging if required.
Pre-Employment Screening
  • Complete criminal background name checked in the registries (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities).
  • Drug testing.
  • Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
  • Proof of employment history or references (if required).
  • Positions that require driving: proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, if required for providing transportation for individuals.
