Job summary

UAB Medicine's Emergency Department at UAB St. Vincent’s Blount in Oneonta, AL seeks an RN to provide direct nursing care within established policies, joining an ER team that handles heart attack, stroke and trauma cases.

Requirements include Alabama nursing licensure, BLS, ACLS, and PALS, with a diploma/degree in nursing; one year of emergency or critical care experience preferred. Full-time shifts and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure at time of hire.
• For the Freestanding Emergency Room, a minimum of one year of critical care or emergency experience is required.
• Licensure/ Certification/ Registration requirements include BLS within 1 month, ACLS within 6 months, PALS within 6 months.

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

  • Weekend Only (Sat. & Sun.) 10a-10p (Triage RN)

The Emergency Department at UAB St. Vincent’s Blount is a Level III Trauma Center with 10 beds that provides 24/7 emergency care for severe illness and injury.You’llwork as partofour emergency room (ER) team that includes cardiovascular, surgical, neurology, stroke, andorthopaedicspecialists, helping toprovide care for conditions such as heart attack, stroke, concussion, broken bones, and much more.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• PALS Provider obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
