Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for Behavioral Health - Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) at UAB St. Vincent's East in Birmingham, AL. The schedule is 8-hour shifts, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, as needed.

Provide direct patient care, perform bio-psychosocial assessments, develop and implement the nursing plan of care, and participate in treatment team conferences. You will evaluate responses and collaborate with the team to adjust goals and interventions.

Qualifications

• BLS-provider certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse (LAPRN) credentialed by Alabama Board of Nursing.

Job Description

Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the facility.

• Perform initial and on-going bio-psychosocial assessments according to accepted standards of nursing practice. Develop a nursing plan of care consistent with the master treatment plan.
• Participate in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each patient.
• Implement nursing plan of care for assigned patients and conducts and/or co-leads group therapy sessions for patients.
• Evaluate patient's response to interventions and revise nursing plan of care as needed. Collaborate with the treatment team to revise goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the changes in patient status.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND Required professional licensure at time of hire. Must have one year of RN experience.
