Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a driven Registered Nurse for our Southdale Edina Urgent Care clinic. The role is an 80-hour biweekly position (1.0 FTE) with 10-hour shifts, alternating weekends, and shifts from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekends.

The RN will plan, organize, coordinate, and provide ambulatory nursing care, educate patients, maintain accurate documentation, and seek opportunities to improve care and workflows in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification preferred (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross).
• 1 year of Urgent Care experience preferred.
• 2 years of ambulatory care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and identify expected nursing outcomes.
• Implement nursing interventions based on plan of care.
• Evaluate care and patient response to interventions and outcomes.
• Deliver care as delegated by physician/authorized practitioner.
• Use effective communication to achieve desirable outcomes.
• Continuously improve processes and workflow to support the care team.

Job Overview

Fairview Health Services is looking for a driven Registered Nurse to join the hard working Urgent care team at our Southdale Edina clinic. This nursing position is approved for 80 hours every two weeks (1.0 FTE) working 10 hour days and works every other weekend.

The schedule includes shifts between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekends.

The registered nurse is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and providing professional nursing care for patients in an ambulatory care setting. While following established standards and protocols, the registered nurse delivers care that is sensitive to the unique needs of the ages served by the clinic. The RN provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established nursing standards and practices. As a member of the care team, the RN supports quality patient and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high-level functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families. The nurse will educate patients and the public about various medical conditions, maintain complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient and continually look for opportunities to improve processes and workflow.

Required Qualifications

• RN license in the state of practice, some positions may require additional state RN licenses

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of previous healthcare experience in an Urgent Care setting
• 2 year previous healthcare experience in an ambulatory setting
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
