Job summary

Firelands Health in Sandusky, OH is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our patient‑focused team. You will implement the nursing process, monitor patient status, and coordinate care with physicians to support safe discharge.

The position requires Ohio RN licensure with ACLS, after‑hours call, and a commitment to service excellence in a community hospital setting. We value teamwork, compassion, and high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Must have a current Ohio RN license and ACLS prior to patient care experience.
• Procedural call required after hours.
• Prefer at least 1 year of experience.
• Current ACLS and Basic EKG required or obtained within 6 months of hire and remain current.
• Board certification preferred within 2 years in area of expertise.
• Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency are a must.

Responsibilities

• Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
• Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.
• Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
• Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.
• Demonstrate service excellence and acts as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.
