Job summary

Firelands Health in Sandusky, OH seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join our patient-centered team. You will implement the nursing process, monitor patients, educate families, and respond to emergencies while upholding Firelands standards of care.

Qualifications

• Current Ohio RN license and CPR prior to patient care experience.
• ACLS, Basic EKG and PALS required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Board certification preferred within 2 years in area of expertise.
• Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Implements nursing process with patients per physician orders and Firelands standards.
• Performs assessments, documents care plans, and reports to physicians as needed.
• Instructs patients and families on treatments to support safe discharge.
• Responds to emergencies; maintains medications and supplies; ensures equipment cleanliness.
• Demonstrates service excellence and acts as an ambassador for Firelands.

What You Will Do:

• Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
• Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.
• Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
• Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.
• Demonstrate service excellence and acts as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.

What You Will Need:

• Must have a current Ohio RN license and CPR prior to patient care experience.
• Current ACLS, Basic EKG, and PALS required or obtained within 6 months of hire and remain current.
• Board certification is preferred within 2 years in area of expertise.
• Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency are a must.
