BayCare Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiovascular ICU at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, FL. The role requires in-person work, a 6:45 AM–7:15 PM shift, and every-other-weekend scheduling.

Qualifications

• RN (Registered Nurse) License.
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing.
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing.
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting.
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Cares for a group of ICU patients using nursing processes and standards.
• Delegates patient care activities to the health care team.
• Supports recovery of patients in critical care.
• Monitors and documents vitals and assessments for the team.
• Identifies changes in patient condition quickly.
• Responds to emergencies for critical patients.
• Coordinates discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care.
• Demonstrates emotional intelligence to improve patient experience.
• Maintains professional accountability and development.

The Registered Nurse – ICU Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
