UAB Medicine is seeking an experienced CICU nurse to join our 12-bed unit, delivering specialized care to cardiac patients with high acuity. You will participate in 3 12-hour shifts on days, nights, or PRN, providing direct patient care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Formación

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire; AHA/Red Cross accepted.
• ACLS certification required within 180 days of hire; AHA/Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed by the Alabama Board of Nursing prior to hire.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct nursing care per policy and protocol.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; document and communicate patient status.
• Coordinate care as primary liaison among disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Document and execute physician and nursing orders; monitor progress.
• Coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.

Job Description

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.


• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.


• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.


• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND Required professional licensure at time of hire.
