Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a registered nurse for the Cath Lab at UAB St. Vincent's in Alabama. The role involves direct patient care, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and following established policies and procedures.

On-site work with day shift and on-call requirements, with PRN opportunities. Qualified candidates will hold a nursing diploma, current RN licensure in Alabama, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Licensed APRN RN credentialed with Alabama Board of Nursing prior to hire.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care following policies and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans and communicate patient status.
• Coordinate care across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Carry out physician and nursing orders and assist with discharge planning.

  • Full time, day shift - 4'10's - call 1 night per week and one weekend per month

What You Will Do

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure at time of hire required.
