Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a nurse to join the Cath Lab team at UAB St. Vincent's, providing direct patient care and coordinating multidisciplinary teams in a high-acuity setting.

The role requires an active Alabama RN license and a Diploma in Nursing, with BLS completed within 30 days of hire. Strong care coordination skills and adherence to policies are essential for successful discharge planning and patient care.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer date.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credential with Alabama Board of Nursing prior to hire date.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program and active licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care according to policies, procedures and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor and communicate patient condition.
• Act as primary coordinator of disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders; coordinate discharge planning with the healthcare team.

  • Full time, day shift - 4'10's - call 1 night per week and one weekend per month
  • PRN, day shift
• Work Location: UAB St Vincent's

What You Will Do

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure at time of hire required.
