Job summary

Keswick in Baltimore, MD is hiring PRN Registered Nurses to provide, coordinate, and evaluate total nursing care for residents in skilled, long-term, or rehab/sub-acute settings. The role emphasizes compassionate, value-driven care in a not-for-profit aging services organization with a 140+ year legacy.

Expect to work with a dedicated team, perform nursing duties per plan, and participate in rounds, documentation, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited RN Nursing program; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Active Registered Nurse licensure without disciplinary infractions by Maryland Board of Nursing.
• Current BLS certification required.
• At least 1 year of prior continual experience with the same long-term care facility; 2 or more years preferred.
• One year of recent Medical-Surgical experience required for Baker Rehab assignment; desirable for other units.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing care according to established nursing standards and the care plan.
• Oversee care delivery as shift Charge Nurse, coordinating RNs, LPNs and GNAs.
• Conduct resident/patient assessments on admission and per unit standards.
• Ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance during rounds.
• Maintain clinical records according to facility policies; update as needed.
• Transcribe physician orders to charts and medication records.
• Administer medications and treatments per regulations and procedures.
• Receive and relay shift reports during handoffs.
• Complete documentation related to admissions, transfers, and discharges.

What will I do as an RN with Keswick?

• Perform nursing care according to established nursing standards and individualizes care based on the care plan and physician orders.
• Function as shift Charge Nurse as assigned and oversee care delivery and completion of nursing tasks by RNs, LPNs and GNAs.
• Performs resident/patient assessments upon admission and per unit standards.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort and regulatory compliance by performing clinical rounds.
• Maintain resident/patient clinical records according to established policies and procedures; make corrections and additions to medical records following facility standards and procedures.
• Transcribe physicians' orders to resident/patient charts, medication records etc. as required.
• Administer medications and treatments according to regulations and established procedures.
• Receive report from off-going shift and gives report to oncoming shift during walking rounds.
• Complete required documentation related to the patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes and ensures that all steps have been completed.

What is required in this position?

• Graduation from an accredited RN Nursing program: Registered Nurse curriculum is required; Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure without disciplinary infractions by Maryland Board of Nursing.
• Current BLS certification required.
• At least 1 year of prior continual experience with the same long-term care facility is required. 2 or more years of service are preferred.
• On e year of recent Medical-Surgical experience is required for assignment to Baker Rehab, and is desirable for all other assignments.
