Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Labor and Delivery Float RN to support our Flex Pool across five hospital sites in Michigan. This part-time night position requires an active Michigan RN license, ANCC EFM and NRP, and recent acute care experience.

You will float to Royal Oak, Troy, Grosse Pointe, Dearborn, and Farmington Hills as needed. Typical duties include providing professional nursing care under the ANA scope, following Beaumont policies, and coordinating with the Staffing Office Float Pool.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• RN with active Michigan license; ANCC EFM and NRP required; BLS from ARC/ASA/Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
• 2 years of recent acute care RN experience; competency testing for floating.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process.
• Float to multiple hospital sites within the Labor and Delivery areas as assigned.
• Comply with Beaumont/Corewell Health policies and procedures and report to the Flex Office.

About the department

The Flex Program is comprised of nurses within our system that float to multiple of our hospital sites under the same type of unit. This specific posting is for Labor and Delivery areas only. This position would float to 5 of our hospital sites and would include the following sites: Royal Oak, Troy, Grosse Pointe, Dearborn, and Farmington Hills.

Scope of Work

The clinical nurse, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. The Clinical Nurse provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Beaumont policies and procedures. This position is scheduled and reports to the Beaumont Flex Office located at Beaumont Service Center.

Qualifications

Education / Training: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Diploma, A.D.N., B.S.N., M.S.N., DNP/PhD

Work Experience: 2 years recent related acute care RN experience, required. Must demonstrate proficiency through competency testing in all nursing areas eligible for floating.

Certification, Licensure, Registration: RN with active license in State of Michigan, required. ANCC EFM and NRP required , Specialty Certification highly recommended after 2 years in specialty.

Other Qualifications: Current BLS certification through American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, required.
