Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Portland, OR is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for night shift to support health plan members through electronic mail and phone. You will provide nursing care, plan and evaluate care across the continuum, and document within departmental standards.

Ideal candidates will have at least two years of RN experience in ED/ICU/urgent care or telephone triage, hold an Oregon RN license (or WA Compact), and be graduates of an accredited nursing program.

Qualifications

• Minimum two consecutive years RN experience in ED, ICU, Urgent Care, Med/Surg, or telephone triage within the last five years.
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in Oregon and/or Washington Compact License.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based, clinically competent nursing care in a culturally sensitive manner.
• Plan, implement, manage, coordinate, and evaluate a plan of care across the care continuum.
• Utilize assessment tools and clinical pathways to manage patient care.
• Perform triage and telephone advice independently within scope of practice.
• Document nursing care in compliance with departmental standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and health care team members.
• Mentor new staff and assist with orientation and staff development needs.
• Collaborate with charge nurse and manager to set quality standards for nursing care.
• Participate in continuing education and share knowledge with team members.
• Advocate for individuals and groups with unmet health needs.
