Job Summary

The Quality Coordinator - RN plans, coordinates, and implements quality management programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and high-quality patient care. This role involves collecting, analyzing, and reporting performance data, collaborating with medical staff, and facilitating process improvements to optimize patient outcomes. The Quality Coordinator also supports accreditation efforts and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Essential Functions
  • Develops and implements quality management strategies, including data collection, analysis, and performance monitoring, to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Conducts medical record reviews to evaluate care and identify improvement opportunities, maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborates with healthcare teams to coordinate quality initiatives, providing guidance and education on best practices.
  • Abstracts core measure data and enters it accurately into hospital, corporate, and state databases, ensuring timely reporting.
  • Communicates regularly with staff and leadership regarding quality metrics, compliance, and performance.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of quality policies and procedures aligned with regulatory standards.
  • Prepares data for presentations and reports to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Participates in process improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous quality enhancement and patient safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, adhering to all policies and standards.
Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of experience in quality management or performance improvement in healthcare required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Understanding of healthcare quality measures, standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and reporting.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with healthcare teams and leadership.
  • Ability to adapt to change and implement process improvements.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and quality reporting tools.
Licenses and Certifications
  • RN - Registered Nurse license in the state or a compact license.
  • CPHQ - Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (preferred).
State Specific Requirements
  • New Mexico: ACLS and PALS certifications are preferred.
